I got some great feedback about my recent post on how to engage with your community at Christmas, so I decided to feature some of my favourite businesses on the blog this week so that you can know where to find fantastic gifts for others (or yourself!) if you still have some shopping to do, or for you to look out for in the new year. And please share the post with family and friends so that you can spread the word! Today I am featuring Kalene Designs!

I met Khala some time ago and fell in love with her designs from the moment I saw her wearing one of her own hand crafted creations. Over the years, she has created pieces for me, and I recently got to view her latest line of accessories, available for purchase in time for Christmas, or for that New year’s celebration.

Here is a little bit about her.

1. How long have you been in business? What inspired you to start this business?

Khala has been in business for almost six years, and was inspired to start the business due to her love of art and design. She loves to express her point of view through her hand crafted items, and she wanted to share her love of design with others.

2. What is your favorite thing about being in business?

Her favourite thing about being in this business is making connections with people. She enjoys creating items to provide joy and happiness for her clients. She also enjoys talking with her clients, learning about others’ point of view and their unique take on life.

3. Are there any special products or promotions in your Christmas lineup of products/services

And if you want to meet Khala and see her beautiful creations in person, you can catch her at Brighton Farmers Market any Saturday in December from 6 am to 9.30 am. 4. What is your favorite thing about Christmas or favorite Christmas tradition?

Her favourite thing about Christmas is connecting with friends and family, and spending time with her loved ones. She is looking forward to Christmas day – making a special dish and coming together for lunch with various family members she has not seen for a while.
