I saw the light.

I saw the light.

The last few months have been heavy with news, the kind of news that no one wants to hear. I have been receiving such news even up to today, and it has taken a toll on my mood. And it almost feels as if the world is responding in sympathy. I left home this evening wanting to watch the sun set, and even the sky seems to be covered in an invisible layer of cloud making the sunset grey and devoid of its usual colors. As I drove, the road to my usual sunset spot was blocked and I ended up somewhere else.

But the first thing that caught my eye was a light. Coincidence? Perhaps. But I will take it as a reminder to myself to keep a light shining, as light always fends off darkness. To remind myself that there are many things I cannot change, but that there is a privilege in sitting on the coast and watching the sun set no matter how dreary it may look. To hear the waves crash. To feel warmth on my skin. And to be able to feel hope.

Only a short post today, but lots of big love from a small island, and a picture of the light that caught my eye.
